Dr. John B. Lane Leadership Scholarship

The Dr. John B. Lane Leadership Scholarship is offered through the Vermont Chapter Alumni of Acacia Fraternity in the name of one of its most respected brothers. Since earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from the University of Vermont in 1959 John Lane has exemplified the Acacia Fraternity principles of human service through his work as a professor of math and computer science, as a trusted community leader, mentor, friend, advisor and most importantly as a father.

The Vermont Chapter of Acacia Fraternity is offering scholarships to University of Vermont first or second year male students who best represent the ideals of Dr. Lane and of Acacia Fraternity. The scholarships will be payable to the university on behalf of the recipient towards their second semester tuition and fees. It will be awarded during the fall semester at a special gathering hosted by the Vermont Chapter of Acacia Fraternity. The award is based on the character of the applicant and is not in any way related to an applicant’s race, creed, color, religion, or sexual orientation. The successful applicant will be under no obligation to join Acacia Fraternity.
