Dr. John B. Lane Leadership Scholarship

The Dr. John B. Lane Leadership Scholarship is offered through the Vermont Chapter of Acacia Fraternity in the name of one of its most respected brothers. Since earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from the University of Vermont in 1959 John Lane has exemplified the Acacia Fraternity principles of human service through his work as a professor of math and computer science, as a trusted community leader, mentor, friend, advisor and most importantly as a father.

The Vermont Chapter of Acacia fraternity is proud to offer one, one-time $2000, UVM scholarships to a first or second year male student attending the University of Vermont who best represent the ideals of Dr. Lane and of Acacia Fraternity. Interviews will be conducted and the scholarship winner announced during the fall semester. The scholarships will be payable to the university on behalf of the recipients during the second semester. The award is based on the character of the applicant and is not in any way related to an applicant’s race, creed, color, religion, or sexual orientation. The successful applicant will be under no obligation to join Acacia Fraternity. Please be aware that being awarded this scholarship, may impact your financial aid package.

Applications must be submitted online using the form below by 11:59 pm October 7, 2017 for the 2017-2018 academic year.
